May 2023 – The deliberative event of the European project EuComMeet kicks off, with hundreds of European citizens from 5 EU countries (Italy, France, Germany, Poland, Ireland) involved from May 8 to June 17 to discuss challenges related to environmental transition in an innovative online deliberative experiment.

Coordinated by the University of Siena (IT), EuComMeet is a European Horizon 2020 project that involves partners from 7 EU countries and explores under what conditions deliberation and representativeness can be an effective response to the challenges plaguing liberal democracies. The project aims to innovate and promote deliberative practices at all levels of governance (local, national and European), supporting active participation in public life and fostering exchanges and connections among EU citizens on Green Deal issues.

At the heart of the EuComMeet project is the development of an open access and free online platform designed specifically for deliberative activities in European cities and regions. Flexible, interactive, easy-to-use, and scalable, the platform will integrate cutting-edge technologies such as moderation and automatic translation into multiple languages.
